FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW OFTEN DO CLASSES MEET?

TMV offers both private and group classes.

Private classes meet for 30 minutes once a week.

Group classes meet once a week but length of classes vary based on the number of students:

2 students – 30 minutes

3 students – 40 minutes

4 or more – 50 minutes

Sometimes it takes awhile for a class to fill. For this reason, new classes are always starting.

If there's an open spot in a class that has just started, we will simply prorate the fee for the remaining classes.

HOW MUCH ARE CLASSES?

Private lessons meet for 30, 45, or 60 minutes once a week. Tuition is billed at the end of the month based on the number of lessons attended. The private rate is $25.00 per 30 minutes, $37.50 per 45 minutes, and $50 per 60 minutes.

Group lessons meet once a week and start at $17.50 per 30 minutes.

We believe in creating a thriving, vibrant community of thoughtful individuals with a unifying, positive connection to music. Group lessons bring young and old, beginners and advanced players, and people from various cultures and traditions together to create music, experience dance and learn from each other. While we encourage group lessons for these reasons, The Music Village also accommodates private lessons.

ARE THERE ANY DISCOUNTS FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION?

Register with a sibling for the same early childhood class and receive a 50% discount.
Must be a sibling or live in the same household to apply. As always, parents play for free in these classes!

WHAT IF I DON'T SEE A CLASS I'M LOOKING FOR?

Don’t see a class you want? Please ask whether we can accommodate your musical interests and aspirations.
We welcome all new ideas and learning opportunities.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO CLASS?

Group classes are on a monthly schedule. If a student misses a class, they have the option of sitting in on another class of similar skill level at the instructor’s discretion. Missed group lessons can otherwise be made up for an additional fee at a time that is convenient for both the instructor and the student.

Private lessons can be made up if the instructor is notified 24 hours ahead of time and is dependent on instructor and student availability. No shows are forfeited. For class policy, permissions and important dates, see our Class Policy

We like knowing if a student can’t make it. We also appreciate your investment in your musical training. Calling or emailing is a gesture we greatly appreciate, as we are then able to plan accordingly. Many of our instructors travel from other communities. If you know you can’t make it to class, and we can reach them in time, then we can save them a trip.

DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT SESSION TO JOIN A CLASS?

Not necessarily. New classes are always starting but if there's an open spot in a class that has just started, we will simply prorate the fee for the remaining classes.

Many teachers offer flexible days and times.
